Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Built in 1854, Mount Olivet Episcopal Church, located at 530 Pelican Ave. in Algiers Point, is the oldest church building in continuous use on the West Bank of New Orleans. That's over 175 years!
Friends of Mount Olivet is an all volunteer organization made up of parishioners and neighbors, all committed to raising funds to renovate the historic building. |

Rummage Sale
TREASURES FROM THE POINT is an annual event in Algiers Point whereby over 90 families hold a neighborhood-wide porch sale, this year on April 6th & 7th. Now in its 22nd year, this "Porch Sale of the Century" is one of the neighborhood's most beloved events, drawing buyers from all over the Gulf Coast, and even as far away as Michigan!
This year, Friends of Mount Olivet is joining the Treasure Hunt with their "White Elephant/Make Me an Offer" church sale. One hundred percent of sale proceeds go toward the ongoing renovation.
